Love the sleek design of Mazda. They mature nicely. Doesn’t get outdated too quickly.

Reliability

Like any Japanese cars.

CONS

Technology and Entertainment

2021 models are two types- one type till Aug of 2021. They come with smaller 8” screens compared to the 10” that comes in the second half. But you get wireless carplay. However the UI is laggy and restarts sometimes.

Interior Space

Feels a little claustrophobic. The interiors use the most premium materials like Napa leather. But the sleek design outside makes inside feel a little smaller. This is a personal opinion.

Fuel Economy

Power comes at the cost of fuel. Low mileage compared to other makes.

Mazda CX5 An all round winner

PROS

Ride and Handling

Everything is in great condition.

Seat Comfort

There is a slight cabin noise when you drive very fast on the highway but otherwise unnoticeable.

Technology and Entertainment

Love the blind spot monitors, lane departure warning

Interior Space

I love the space in the front. Back is a little tight but okay.

Value

My car is bang for buck. I paid around 23k (pre taxes for this car).

Fuel Economy

It performs exactly at par of what Mazda claims. I get around 9.4l fuel efficiency (highway and city combined)

Styling

I have always loved the exteriors and interiors of Mazda cars. The 2018 CX5 was a no brainer. Kudos to clutch for making sure the interior was spotless and as clean as new.

Reliability

Have faced zero issues with the car since the day it was delivered to me even though I bought it a a mileage of 91k km. I’ve driven it for more than 25km now in 8 months.

CONS

It’s great but not as great as competitors primarily because they have a smaller engine

2017 Mazda CX-5 GS AWD with Comfort Package

PROS

Seat Comfort

Very comfortable leather seats. No issues on back or leg pain on longer drives that span for hours.

Interior Space

Excellent trunk space in the back. However Honda CRV and the Toyota RAV4 would have more trunk space.

Value

Car was around 23000 when I had bought the car and it was the 2017 model. Although it is missing adaptive cruise control the car is fantastic to drive and the fuel economy is modest for a non-electric non-hybrid vehicle.

Styling

The feel of the car feels very sporty and the build and quality of the vehicle feels like an extremely lower end luxury car.

Reliability

Only have been doing oil changes so far in the summer season. No additional maintenance required going for 80000 to 90000 kilometers.

CONS

Technology and Entertainment

Carplay was not part of the package in the model of this car. Infotainment system not intuitive to use.

PROS

Ride and Handling

The engine has adequate power and gains speed at ease that helps me to merge to highways hassle free.

Seat Comfort

The version of the car I have comes with ventilated seats/heated front seats. This helps in summer as well as winter.

Styling

This compact suv is sleek, easy to drive and park in the city. The design is simple yet stylish.

Reliability

It’s been 10 months and I have not faced any technical issue in my car. Everything works as expected since day 1 of taking delivery.

CONS

Technology and Entertainment

The infotainment screen could be bigger. With just 7 inches, viewing maps get difficult at times.
