2020 Subaru Outback

Love my Subaru Outback!

PROS

Ride and Handling
Handles great even in the bad weather.
Seat Comfort
Most comfortable car I have ever owned. I love the seats, plenty of leg room (I have long legs), and the heating feature is a bonus.
Interior Space
Great for the dogs, and the back seats fold down easily if I have to move anything large.
Styling
Looks nice and I feel proud driving around in it.
Reliability
Never an issue at the auto shop, everything just works.

CONS

Technology and Entertainment
Connection to the infotainment system is hit or miss. I have found if it's really cold it take a while to get connected and stay connected with my phone. When it works it's great.

Reliability
Seems to be holding to the Subaru reputation

Used Subaru Outback in London

Overview

The Subaru Outback is a midsize crossover that combines the practicality of a wagon with the capability of an SUV, making it a suitable choice for London drivers who face diverse weather conditions and road types. With its standard all-wheel drive, the Outback is well-equipped for winter driving and can handle the snowy and icy roads common in Southwestern Ontario. Its spacious interior and ample cargo space make it ideal for family errands and weekend getaways to nearby destinations like Grand Bend or the Bruce Peninsula.

In the London used car market, the Subaru Outback is frequently available in trims such as the Premium and Limited, which offer a balance of comfort and technology. Buyers often compare the Outback to vehicles like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV4, and Ford Edge, particularly those seeking a reliable and versatile vehicle for both city and rural settings.

Key benefits

The Subaru Outback excels in several areas that make it a smart pick for London residents:

  • All-Wheel Drive Capability: Standard AWD provides superior traction and stability, especially beneficial during London's snowy winters.
  • Interior Space: Offers more cargo capacity and flexible seating arrangements than many competitors, making it practical for families and outdoor enthusiasts.
  • Safety Features: Stands out with advanced safety technology, including Subaru's EyeSight Driver Assist, which is often more comprehensive than rivals.
  • Resale Value: Maintains strong resale value, making it a financially sound choice for budget-conscious buyers.
  • Comfortable Ride: Provides a smooth and comfortable ride, with well-cushioned seats and a quiet cabin, ideal for long drives.

Potential trade-offs

While the Subaru Outback is a strong contender in its segment, there are some considerations for potential buyers:

  • Fuel Economy: Compared to rivals like the Honda CR-V, it may have slightly higher fuel consumption, which could impact long-term costs.
  • Infotainment System: The infotainment system in older models may lack the advanced features and user-friendliness found in newer competitors.
  • Engine Performance: Buyers focused on acceleration and power may find the Outback's engine less responsive compared to turbocharged rivals.
  • Trim Availability: Fewer high-spec models with luxury features may be available in the used market, limiting options for those seeking premium amenities.
  • Urban Maneuverability: Its larger size might be less convenient for urban parking and tight city streets compared to more compact crossovers.
